Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Operating Room RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Farmington, Connecticut. This role offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and support from a dedicated clinical team.

• One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

• ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certifications
• OR Nursing Certification (CNOR)
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care throughout the perioperative process, ensuring safety and comfort during surgical procedures.

• Prepare the operating room and ensure all instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready.
• Assist in patient positioning and preparation, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety.
• Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments and supplies promptly.
• Monitor the patient’s condition during surgery and document significant changes.
• Handle surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization, and disposal.
• Manage specimen collection, labeling, and transport according to protocols.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly.
• Participate in patient handoff communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases.
• Assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies and procedures.
• Follow hospital safety rules, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures.
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.

• Follow written and verbal instructions; proficiency in PC skills.
• Physical abilities: stationary position, move equipment 50‑100lbs, push, pull, bend, and move about.
• Interpersonal skills: work effectively with diverse personnel and maintain a positive attitude.
• Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, push/pull, and movement during procedures.
• Mental requirements: tolerate frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision or independently, manage irregular activity schedules, maintain concentration to detail.
