Oncology Nurse, Healthcare Nursing
Job Description:
Join an outpatient oncology clinic team in Farmington, Connecticut as a travel healthcare professional supporting medical oncology and hematology oncology services. This role centers on daily clinic operations from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no weekends, no on-call, and no major holidays—giving you a steady schedule while you help keep the outpatient flow moving.
You’ll work within the coverage pool for medical oncology and hematology oncology, handling responsibilities such as answering phone triage and solving day-to-day workflow issues in collaboration with the clinical team. Experience in oncology patients and outpatient ambulatory care/outpatient clinic settings is required, along with at least 2 years of experience and prior travel experience. A CT license (or compact on file) is required at submission, and the ONS chemotherapy immunotherapy provider card is required.
The role may involve lifting and restraining patients, exposure to communicable/infectious diseases, and potential risk of injury from assaultive or abusive clients, so comfort with variable clinic conditions and team-based problem solving is essential. While you may work closely with nursing in the chemotherapy infusion room, this position does not directly cover or administer infusion therapies.
