Position: In-Process Inspector / Process Auditor | 2nd Shift

Job Summary

In-Process Inspector / Process Auditor for the 2nd Shift, reporting to the Quality Manager in the High Purity & Quality Control Department. This hand‑on quality role is based in the Mott Corporation cleanroom manufacturing environment and is responsible for ensuring product and process integrity within our high‑purity filtration operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute inspections per engineering drawings, specifications, control plans, and work instructions.
  • Perform first‑piece, in‑process, and final verification inspections.
  • Ensure inspection integrity through consistent methods, proper handling, and objective evidence.
  • Verify inspection equipment readiness and suitability prior to use.
  • Capture and record inspection data to support defect tracking and trend analysis.
  • Identify nonconformances, initiate containment actions, and escalate quality issues per established procedures.
  • Partner with production teams to clarify requirements and reduce repeat defects.
  • Conduct routine process audits to confirm adherence to defined standards and operating limits.
  • Evaluate production operations against approved procedures and specifications.
  • Examine key process inputs, including equipment, materials, environment, methods, and measurement systems.
  • Verify effectiveness of process controls and operator training.
  • Document audit findings using objective, traceable evidence.
  • Ensure corrective actions are assigned, tracked, and verified for effectiveness.
  • Support layered process audits and identification of systemic issues.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills
  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience in manufacturing inspection, quality assurance, or similar technical role.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Working knowledge of ISO‑based quality systems.
  • Proficiency with common inspection tools and measurement equipment.
  • Understanding of measurement systems, uncertainty, and inspection bias.
  • Familiarity with basic data analysis, trending, and SPC concepts.
  • Strong documentation and record‑keeping discipline.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced production environment.

Cleanroom manufacturing setting requiring adherence to strict contamination control protocols. Frequent interaction with production operators, engineers, and quality leadership. Hands‑on role with significant time spent on the production floor.

Total Rewards

The starting compensation for this position is $34.00 per hour. This position may be eligible for a performance‑based bonus plan.
