Farmington, CT | Full-Time | Direct Hire

Venteon is partnering with a growing manufacturing organization in Farmington, CT to identify an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist
. This individual will lead environmental compliance initiatives, drive workplace safety programs, ensure OSHA compliance, and foster a strong culture of safety throughout the facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for an EHS professional who enjoys being hands-on, partnering with operations, and making a measurable impact on employee safety and environmental compliance.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and maintain OSHA compliance programs across the manufacturing facility.
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver environmental, health, and safety training for employees and new hires.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, risk assessments, and environmental audits.
  • Manage hazardous waste, spill prevention, air and water quality compliance, and other environmental programs.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations including REACH, RoHS, TSCA, PFAS, Proposition 65, and Conflict Minerals reporting.
  • Maintain environmental permits, compliance records, and required regulatory documentation.
  • Complete customer environmental compliance questionnaires and documentation.
  • Coordinate Hazard Communication ("Right-to-Know") programs and chemical safety initiatives.
  • Administer forklift safety training and other required safety certification programs.
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure OSHA standards and company safety policies are consistently followed.
  • Stop unsafe work when necessary and partner with leadership to resolve safety concerns.
  • Evaluate workplace accommodations and restricted-duty assignments.
  • Recommend improvements to reduce workplace hazards and improve overall safety performance.
  • Conduct facility inspections to verify proper fire protection equipment, first aid supplies, and emergency preparedness.
  • Lead and support site safety committees and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing health, safety, and environmental programs in an industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated experience investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions.
  • Experience developing and delivering employee safety training programs.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with cross-functional teams.
