The Technical Sales Engineer & Analyst provides guidance and support to our internal and external sales force and promotes best practices with respect to the sale of Tru Services with a focus on Bending and Punching Tooling. The Technical Sales Engineer & Analyst enables data-driven decision making, combines technical expertise with analytical thinking to define and to continuously improve the marketing and sales strategy for TRUMPF’s after-sales product portfolio.
TechnicalSales Engineer Responsibilities
- Provide strategic support to a team of Regional Sales Managers and Sales Representatives with the goal to significantly grow Tru Services sales
- Design, implement, and continuously improve sales strategies and processes that utilize the potential of non-buyer analyses to significantly gain market share.
- Use data to drive sales by i.e. analyzing consumption data to develop individual customer reports; by identifying patterns and trends based on historical consumption and sales data; by developing databases and data collection systems; and by conducting continuous market analyses.
- Build a trusted advisor relationship by partnering with our internal and external sales force in the US, CA, and MX through the use of data analysis, data visualization, and compilation of targeted sales and marketing material.
- Develop a deep understanding of our Bending and Punching Tooling to effectively convey their technical features and benefits to customers.
- Build strong relationships with customers by understanding their technical needs and provide solutions.
- Conduct market research and obtain feedback from customers to improve existing products and processes.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of Tru Services and Smart Services portfolio and keep up to date with new products and industry trends.
- Some travel required for customer visits or shows.
- 20% travel
The successful candidate displays excellent analytical thinking, networking abilities, and professional communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to technical and non-technical audiences. Proven experience in a sales engineering, technical consulting, or data analyst role. Good presentation skills. Technical knowledge (for machine tools) preferred.
EducationB.S. or M.S. in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering preferred.
