Overview

Stopa America is a worldwide leader in automated storage of sheet metal, long span goods, and fully automated parking systems. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service and Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated storage systems for our clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring these systems operate at peak performance, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and software issues, and providing exceptional customer service.

This is a hands-on, field-based position that requires strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Stopa America is located in Farmington, CT and services and installs Stopa systems for the American market. The installation team arrives on a job site throughout the United States. The team performs layout, erection of steel, installation of a pallet picker crane, followed by full wiring of the system. In the end the installation team hands the job site over to the programming team who program the system to function according to customers’ wishes.

Responsibilities
  • Travelling Monday-Friday to customer sites to perform the install of the storage system
  • Performing mechanical work related to steel erection and plumbing of a steel system
  • Performing electrical work related to running and terminating wires for both low and high voltage
  • Troubleshooting the electrical systems to diagnose issues
Qualifications
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Related degree from Lincoln Technical Institute or similar
    • Related prior experience working in the manufacturing industry
    • Understanding of electrical concepts
    • Ability to interpret and understand electrical schematics
    • Willingness to travel and valid passport
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Familiarity with PLC electrical functions
    • Experience with automated machinery and electrical control circuits
    • Moderate fluency in technical German
