Otis is searching for an Electrical Technician supports the Electrical Engineering lab by building and modifying test equipment, executing electrical and functional tests, troubleshooting basic problems, and assembling PCBAs and prototypes. Applies technical skills, experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks in accordance with engineering requirements, established procedures, and applicable safety practices.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

• Build and modify electrical lab test fixtures, wiring harnesses, and test equipment from engineer-defined requirements, schematics, and drawings when needed.
• Set up and execute electrical and functional lab tests using established procedures and engineering direction.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical, functional, and test-equipment problems; identify abnormal results, collect supporting data, take appropriate action within established methods, and elevate more complex issues to engineering.
• Repair PCBAs and prototypes for laboratory testing.
• Operate, verify, and maintain common lab instruments, test equipment, and tools used for tester development.
• Read and apply schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, technical instructions, and test documentation to complete assigned work.
• Document test setups, configurations, observations, results, and technical issues accurately and clearly.
• Identify required components and materials, obtain quotations, and coordinate orders for lab activities.
• Apply ESD controls, electrical safety requirements, and engineering lab best practices consistently.

• High school diploma and an associate degree or technical certification in Electronics or Electrical Technology, or equivalent two-year post-high-school technical training.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant hands‑on experience in an electrical lab, product development, or product test environment.
• Demonstrated ability to apply technical skills, experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks under general supervision.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical and functional test problems and recognize issues requiring engineering or experienced technician support.
• Demonstrated ability to read and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical instructions.
• Working knowledge of common electrical test equipment.
• Ability to record accurate results, and communicate technical observations clearly.
• Working knowledge of ESD controls and electrical safety practices.
• Experience working with 220-480 VAC equipment is a plus.

The salary range for this role is $56,400 - $77,550. Pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
