Overview
The University of Maine Farmington is seeking a Field Supervisor within the College of Education, Health & Rehabilitation. This non‑tenure track, full‑time lecturer position begins on August 17, 2026. The field supervisor places students in public school settings with mentor teachers, organizes field placements, and works as a collaborative member of the supervision team. The role involves traveling to school sites, conducting observations, formative and summative assessments, pre‑ and post‑conferencing, and acting as a liaison with mentor teachers and building principals.
The supervisor conducts weekly seminars on classroom experience, teaching profession, school environments, state and national standards, and portfolio preparation. Faculty responsibilities also include advising, engagement with the College of Education and the Division of Teacher Education, Health & Rehabilitation Services, and teaching a course depending on division needs. The position reports to the Director of Field Services and is evaluated annually.
Salary and Benefits:
The starting annual salary is $56,811.05, plus a 10% employer retirement contribution. - Advise students and engage with the College of Education and Division of Teacher Education, Health & Rehabilitation Services.
- Teach courses as needed based on division capacity.
- Report to the Director of Field Services and participate in annual evaluation.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Education.
- Valid Driver’s License (based on UMS standards).
- Five (5) years of experience teaching in public schools, including leadership or supervisory experience and expertise in PK‑12.
- Experience as a mentor teacher or working with innovative models of pre‑service teacher supervision and school‑university partnerships.
- Experience teaching within a college/university setting.
