Ed Tech III

Goal(s):
Support RSU 9's youngest learners, creating a safe & caring learning environment under the direct supervision of the lead teacher and building principal.

Qualifications
  • 90 Credits of Approved Study
Certifications
  • Maine DOE Certification - Ed Tech III
Performance Responsibilities
  • Provides instruction as directed under the supervision of the lead teacher, in any special education program in the assigned school, or any school in the district based on the need for the day.
  • Informs special education and regular classroom teacher(s) of any problems or special information regarding individual students.
  • Participates in training programs as assigned.
  • Works with individual or small groups of students under the direct professional supervision of the classroom teacher or content area specialist.
  • Consistently observes, records, follows and implements behavior management and disciplinary strategies developed by the team.
  • Carries out assigned duties relating to the supervision of students (e.g., recess, lunch, boarding buses, class trips, to and from classes, and/or other related services programs).
  • Supervises students for recess, lunch, and boarding buses, class trips, and to and from classes and/or other related service programs.
  • Provides classroom management functions.
  • Assists in the preparation of instructional materials.
  • Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information regarding students and their families.
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism in following and supporting school district policies, school rules, and team standards in all areas.
  • Reports to the lead teacher if unable to resolve a conflict with a colleague.
  • Follows all requirements regarding time clock procedures and adjustment slips
  • Substitutes for other support staff when requested by administration (central office).
  • Follows expectations in the special education ed tech manual.
  • Is dependable, has positive work relationships, and has a positive attitude towards students, colleagues, and work tasks.
Education
  • 90 credit hours
  • Great opportunity for undergrad students to gain experience in the classroom.
Experience
  • Experience working with students age 3-5 preferred.
Working Schedule
  • School Year Only (179 days)
  • Elementary Schedule
  • Mon, Tue, Thu & Fri 7.25 hrs per day
  • Wed 3.5 hrs per day

Reports To:

Building Principal

Terms of Employment:
As determined annually by the District.

Evaluation:
Completed annually by building principal

FLSA Status:
Non-exempt
