Are you a passionate early childhood educator looking to guide young minds in a supportive, hands-on environment? The University of Maine at Farmington's Sweatt-Winter Childcare & Early Education Center is seeking a creative and responsive Preschool Head Teacher to lead a classroom community!

What You'll Do

• Guide & Inspire:
  Plan and lead dynamic, interactive, and age-appropriate daily activities that spark curiosity and support individual learning styles.
• Cultivate Safety & Joy:
  Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment using positive guidance, responsive caregiving, and anti-bias principles.
• Build Community:
  Connect closely with families through regular updates and parent conferences, while treating every child and family with dignity and respect.
• Track Development:
  Conduct screenings, maintain portfolio assessments, and document developmental milestones.
• Mentor Future Educators:
  Support and evaluate practicum students as they gain hands-on teaching experience in your classroom.

Qualifications

• Education:
  
  Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field required (Master's preferred).
• Certifications:
  
  Current First Aid and CPR certifications required.
• Skills:
  
  Strong communication, adaptability, and classroom management skills, along with a collaborative spirit and basic tech proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education:
  
  Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development or a related field

Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the annual salary for this position is $46,500 plus a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents.
