As a Physician Associate (PA) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) at Maine Health Franklin Hospital, you will evaluate and treat patients primarily on the hospital medicine ward, manage admissions, and provide consultative services to various subspecialties, including the emergency department. You will collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, care management, and ancillary services to ensure optimal patient care. This position is full‑time, day/evening shifts (40 hrs/week), with a variable, request‑based schedule that includes weekend and holiday shifts.

The role offers an opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive, team‑based environment and to participate in quality initiative programs within the department of hospital medicine.

Scheduled Hours

10‑hour shifts: daytime (7:00 am–5:00 pm) with potential swing shifts (9:00 am–7:00 pm). Part‑time and full‑time opportunities available.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience in hospital medicine preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively triage, organize, and prioritize patient care.
  • Strong teamwork capabilities.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
