Located in Farmington, Maine, the Franklin Hospital Emergency Department serves patients of all ages—from newborns to geriatrics—presenting with a wide variety of conditions including chest pain, abdominal pain, trauma, behavioral health concerns, and other urgent and emergent medical needs.

In this part‑time role, you will work alongside experienced nurses, providers, and support staff in a fast‑paced environment that values teamwork, communication, and patient‑centered care. You will strengthen your assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision‑making skills while caring for a diverse patient population. For a limited time, Maine Health is offering up to $10,000 sign‑on bonus for all eligible Registered Nurses with 0–2 years of experience and $20,000 for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of experience.

  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a full or part‑time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for part‑time hires; per‑diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current Maine Health member employees are ineligible; former Maine Health members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Summary: The MH Registered Nurse II – Emergency Department role provides high‑quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. You will collaborate, delegate, and communicate with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal care.

MH RN II:
This level is competent in the clinical role and has demonstrated the ability to care for most patients assigned. Though not able to care for every patient type within their area of hire, the RN II demonstrates how to obtain appropriate resources to develop required skills and knowledge over time. This level includes automatic advancement after 1 year as an RN I, provided the RN I requirements are met and the individual is in good standing.

Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current applicable state license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date. Other certifications may be required specific to area of practice or in accordance with department guidelines.
  • Experience: One year of recent RN experience required. Automatic advancement from RN I level if all onboarding requirements are complete, including the New‑Grad Residency (where available).
