Part-Time 2nd Grade Co-Teacher
Hillel Day School is a vibrant, joyful, and ambitious Jewish day school. Our teachers are dedicated, knowledgeable, caring, collaborative, and innovative. We believe in creating meaningful relationships with students while fostering a culture where learning is engaging, lasting, and inspiring.
We are seeking a warm, collaborative, and student-centered Part-Time 2nd Grade Co-Teacher to support instruction and classroom learning in partnership with the lead teacher.
Requirements
- Support the lead teacher in planning and delivering engaging instructional lessons.
- Use different models of co-teaching to meet the needs of all students.
- Work with individuals, small groups, and the full class to support student learning and growth.
- Help create a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Build meaningful relationships with students and support their social-emotional development.
- Observe student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
- Assist with classroom organization, routines, and learning materials.
- Collaborate closely with the lead teacher and grade-level team to support student success.
- Reinforce classroom expectations and procedures using positive behavior management strategies.
- Participate in lunch/recess supervision as assigned.
- Communicate professionally and collaboratively with administrators, colleagues, and families.
- Pursue ongoing professional learning and growth.
- Strong instructional and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team.
- Positive attitude, flexibility, professionalism, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to integrate technology into learning and use Google Drive effectively.
- Commitment to putting students first and supporting the school's mission and culture.
- Preferred knowledge of:
- Science of Reading practices
- Responsive Classroom approach
- Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education or related field required.
- Master's Degree preferred.
