What You'll Do

As a Community Impact Specialist, you will maximize LOC's impact and presence in the community, including our school district partners, local community organizations and community leaders by managing and executing financial literacy initiatives in school classrooms, community groups, committees or organizations. This means traveling between local establishments and LOC Branches to deliver the programs, sometimes outside of regular business hours.

Key responsibilities include:

Financial Literacy Programming

• Identify and execute financial literacy needs for both youth and adults including Classroom Experiences, Teen Financial Reality Fairs, workshops
• Facilitate hands on classroom experiences grades 4 through 12.
• Develop and maintain relevant financial literacy programs, focused on ages 9 years through adulthood, where topics, activities, and focus are on the educational needs of the community and partnered schools.
• Partner with internal subject matter experts (real estate lending and wealth management, etc.) as needed to develop educational materials for schools, communities, and credit union membership.
• Initiate and maintain relationships with school district partners, educators and administrators.
• Create and distribute marketing materials for credit union financial literacy efforts and programming.
• Create and maintain educational program calendar.
• Promote youth accounts through financial literacy and education efforts.

Community Engagement, Events and Volunteerism

• Build and maintain partnerships with credit union volunteers, community members and outside
• Attend community engagement events outside of standard work hours. Which may include the creation of volunteer instructions, coordination with event host, packing and transporting supplies for events.
• Seek out and initiate new opportunities for the credit union through community, schools and local organizations.
• Representing the credit union at community engagement and promotional events through schools or community partners.
• Review, recommend and implement LOC's community sponsorship program for assigned
• Attend community organizational meetings: chambers, community partners, downtown development authority, etc. Take an active role as a committee member or event leader.

Administration

• Provide summaries and wrap ups of community engagement events, initiatives, and financial literacy efforts.
• Track all financial literacy efforts (number of programs facilitated, students/participants reached, etc.) and document programs including photos.
• Maintain scheduling and calendar regional community events upcoming or past.
• Update all sponsorship signage with organizations or schools. Document/photograph signage of our community exposure.
• Provide reports of local events and benefits of LOC participation, including photos, attendee numbers, etc.
• Adhere to requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and its implementing regulations, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), all organizational policies and procedures and complete all required annual trainings.

What We're Looking For

• Associate's degree or equivalent in experience.
• 2-3 years' experience in program development, as well as youth programming with a specific focus on children and youth ages 5-18 years
• Experience in community relations, volunteerism, financial literacy or equivalent financial services
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to present in front of both large and small groups
• Flexibility to easily adjust to different education formats when needed, such as virtual, in-person or pre-recorded
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills; ensuring efficiency and accuracy
