Substation Design And Engineering Role
Are you ready to make a significant impact in substation design and engineering?
As an integral part of our client's team, this role supports business objectives through specialized engineering in substation design. The position contributes to the implementation of capital projects and system planning, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of system components.
- Prepare estimates, material requisitions, specifications, and drawings for projects.
- Recommend solutions for technical problems on various electrical equipment and systems.
- Lead design projects, review contractor submissions, and issue projects for construction.
- Create designs for substation installations, protective relaying systems, relay settings, and SCADA systems.
- Collaborate with other engineers and departments for consulting, project management, and resource organization.
- Generate reports on various facets of the transmission system.
- Attend meetings and training sessions to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience/education.
- Minimum of two (2) years of work experience for Intermediate Engineer level; six (6) years for Senior Engineer level.
- Preferred coursework in power systems for electrical engineering majors.
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards; utility experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
- Capability to learn and utilize job-specific software.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
