Instructor of Math Education

Position Summary

San Juan College is seeking a highly motivated individual for a full‑time, 9‑month position of Instructor of Math Education, beginning Fall
2026. The role involves teaching 15 credit hours per semester of Math for Teachers and General Education Math courses and supporting the academic success of students.

• Teach 15 credit hours per semester of Math for Teachers and General Education Math courses.
• Organize and maintain mathematics curricula.
• Develop and revise instructional materials as appropriate.
• Keep accurate student records.
• Assist in recommending and orienting part‑time faculty.
• Work with college councils and committees.
• Maintain a minimum of five office hours per week, including day and evening classes.
• Teach at satellite campuses as needed.

• Master’s degree in Mathematics Education required.
• Master’s degree in Mathematics considered with experience teaching Math for Teachers courses and/or K‑12.
• Access to home internet, personal computer, and telephone.
• Demonstrated skill and willingness to use multiple technology platforms to communicate with students.
• Multicultural perspective with adult/minority students.
• High energy level and strong commitment to the community college philosophy.
