- Build a positive and vibrant campus life and create community across campus through co‑curricular programming and activities.
- Design, execute, manage, and assess leadership development opportunities for students to enhance their involvement as citizens of both the campus and the wider community.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive campus life calendar.
- Provide assistance, support, and advice in the planning and execution of student‑planned activities.
- Plan and execute large‑scale campus‑wide traditions such as Welcome Days, Halloween Carnival, Luminarias, Family Game Night, Student Rush, the Student Leadership Awards Reception, and Spring Bash.
- Oversee and provide leadership and guidance to student organizations.
- Guide student groups through the registration process, the activity request process, and provide assistance in event planning.
- Advise the Campus Activity Board, attend their meetings, and develop/implement training as needed.
- Serve as a resource to aid in planning and implementation of CAB activities.
- Organize, promote, and implement student events and activities.
- Train, assign, direct, supervise, evaluate, and discipline Student Engagement & Campus Life staff. Devote a majority of work time to supervisory duties.
- Customarily and regularly direct the work of two or more other employees; make recommendations to hire and promote direct reports; conduct annual performance reviews of all direct reports.
- Prepare budgets; maintain and monitor expenditures; provide guidance in the distribution of allotted budget funds.
- Assist in college retention and completion efforts; mentor student leaders in the achievement and completion of academic and personal goals.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate the department’s Student Services Learner Outcomes to assess student development and learning.
- Select, train, mentor and supervise department student employees, Campus Activity Board, and other student leaders.
- Develop, implement and assess a robust schedule of civic engagement activities on campus.
- Facilitate the management of the student activities lounge and meeting rooms.
- Perform related duties.
- Knowledge and competency commonly associated with the completion of a bachelor’s degree in a field related to the occupational area. Masters degree preferred.
- Three to five years of related experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department.
