This position is responsible for coordinating and the instruction of Education/Alternative Licensure Program material within the School of Business, Information Technology and Social Sciences.

This is a 9‑month faculty administrative position with a split of 80% instruction and 20% administrative duties.

This position will report directly to the Senior Director of the Teach Up/Teacher Education/Alternative Licensure programs. Instruction times will include day and evening courses. May instruct at the main campus (Farmington, NM), east campus (Aztec, NM) or the west campus (Kirtland, NM).

MAJOR DUTIES
  • Will provide 15 credit hours of instruction per semester with a primary teaching load in Teacher Education and Alternative Licensure (ALP) courses.
  • Course load will potentially include additional courses in Education content areas such as:
    Preparation for the NMTA, Introduction to Teaching and Special Education as well as, Teaching Reading, Foundations of Education, Effective Teaching Practices, Elementary Teaching Methods as well as, special needs and gifted courses.
  • Organize instruction and plan student activities; assess student work; calculate grades.
  • Develops and designs program specific curriculum in a variety of delivery modes; develop and design course guide, syllabi, and other materials related to the program.
  • Conduct in‑classroom site visits for candidates seeking their ALP licensure. Site visits will be located at various schools in San Juan County.
  • Perform student consultations and advisement.
