Join Our Team as an Industrial Control Systems Administrator!

Are you ready to take charge of cutting-edge technology that powers Dakota Electric Association’s operations? As our Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Administrator , you’ll be the guardian of reliability, security, and efficiency for our ICs environment.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary Range: $91,000 - $145,000 annually

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 4 years of combined experience in system administration, software development using a high-level programming language (Java, C#, .NET, etc.), working with network protocols, traffic analysis, firewall configuration, and maintenance. SCADA administration experience is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field is required. 4 years of additional required experience (8 years total experience) may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft VBA is required.
  • Project management and electric utility experience are preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the continuous (24x7) operation of the ICs environment and the associated networks, data links, and telecommunications interface equipment.
  • Administer, maintain, and document the ICs hardware, software, and systems, on a routine basis and troubleshoot the hardware and software in response to abnormal operating conditions.
  • Configure, build, test, document, and maintain the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) application software, real-time and history databases, and human/machine interfaces.
  • Build, test, document, and maintain new application programs that enhance the SCADA system operation and improve the productivity of the ICs environment users.
  • Research, plan, and recommend the implementation of new technologies that sustain, enhance, and secure, the ICs environment.
  • Function as an internal consultant and project manager for upgrades, modifications, and replacements of the ICs environment hardware and software.
  • Participate and make recommendations for the annual ICs environment budget.
  • Train and provide technical support to DEA engineers, power system operators, technician-electricians, and others who use and operate the functions within the ICs environment.
