Inventory & Purchasing Coordinator

Responsibilities and Expectations

IPS is seeking a dedicated Inventory & Purchasing Coordinator to maintain on-site inventory. This position consists of pulling items for orders, organizing inventory and stocking items on the shelf.

  • Accurately pick, allocate, and apply serial numbers (if available) to inventoried items for orders.
  • Make necessary changes when an order does not meet the established standards.
  • Check stock for potential orders.
  • Notify the requesting party about the status of available stock.
  • Place newly purchased items in the correct bin location.
  • Maintain inventory on shelves and in bins in an orderly manner.
  • Maintain locations housing inventory to uphold a neat and organized warehouse environment.
  • Purchase materials, parts, supplies, services, and other items required to support shop operations.
  • Obtain pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery information from vendors.
  • Issue purchase orders in accordance with company procedures and approval requirements.
  • Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with vendors to confirm order status, delivery dates, and changes.
  • Expedite critical materials when required to support production schedules and customer commitments.
  • Communicate material status, delays, risks, and expected delivery dates to appropriate internal personnel.
  • Assist with sourcing alternate vendors or materials when needed to support schedule, quality, or cost objectives.
  • Support cost control efforts through competitive pricing, quote comparison, vendor communication, and proper purchasing discipline.
  • Assist with internal and outsourced logistics coordination, including freight, pickup, delivery, and transportation needs.
  • Support stockroom activities as needed, including ordering, inventory organization, material availability, and replenishment of commonly used parts and supplies.
  • Assist with urgent operational needs when priorities change due to customer requirements, schedule changes, or production demands.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred
  • Proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • General understanding and firsthand experience with safe work environments
  • Be able to read, interpret, and modify documents
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an excellent driving record

Pay Rate Details

$22.00 - $27.00 hourly
