The Role
Operates crushing equipment safely and efficiently in order to maintain maximum production and high product quality for our customer.
What You’ll Accomplish- Operates a variety of heavy equipment in a quarry setting.
- Loads trucks, maintains proper quantities of material to be loaded, moves earth or material from one location to another.
- Operates and maintains loader, crusher, screens, and conveyors. Loads material into crusher, into trucks or into plant. Operates to improve efficiencies while maintaining an orderly and clean work site. Keeps ground level and travel routes safe.
- Completes visual and daily safety inspection of equipment to ensure safe operations. Monitors and implements repairs, adjustments and routine maintenance of plant and work site equipment. Ensures proper air pressure in tires, correct fluid levels, and splices belts, changes rollers, bearings and screens. Records and documents data and reviews maintenance logs for repairs.
- Ensures that safety, compliance, environmental, and MSHA requirements are followed at all times.
- Operating equipment as needed, efficiently and with accuracy
- Maintains appearance of equipment. Maintains proper air pressure in tires. Performs minor repairs as needed. Maintains proper fluid levels.
- Completes all paperwork that may be necessary; assist with plant work as required by plant management.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent - Required
Work Experience:
Minimum of one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Ability to read, write and speak English. Must have the ability to understand and abide by Company policies and safety rules
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Excellent equipment operation skills
- Ability to work long hours depending on demand. Overtime is required.
- Capable of working independently while maintaining cooperative working relationships with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim Approved Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
