Ward Clinical Caseworker, Licensed Professional Counselor​/Counselor in Training

This position will be located at 1010 West Columbia Street in Farmington, MO.

The State of Missouri, Department of Mental Health at Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center is looking for an positive, energetic, and caring Licensed Professional Counselor/Counselor‑In Training to provide services as part of one of our innovative interdisciplinary treatment teams to mentally ill forensic clients in a high security setting. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate compassion and an ability to work in a trauma informed and recovery based environment.

• Performs a variety of professional tasks including assessment, admission, client counseling, prognosis, placement, treatment, and/or discharge planning functions.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop treatment plans, discuss client progress, and implement possible changes in treatment strategy.
• Designs behavior modification programs for individual clients and monitors the implementation process; works with other staff members in implementing these programs; and answers questions for direct care staff concerning problem areas.
• May supervise counselors‑in‑training and other staff.

• Possession of a current license to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Missouri.
