Registered Nurse; RN - ED - Emergency Department

Overview

Parkland Health Center (BJC Health Care) offers a full-service acute care hospital in Farmington and a rural emergency hospital in Bonne Terre, Missouri. The Emergency Department provides 24/7 support to triage, diagnose and treat patients for emergency services.

• FT Mid-Shift )
• 3 12‑hour shifts per week

• Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of nursing standards.
• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on managing illness or injury, post‑treatment home care and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, including professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
• Ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
• Maintains constant state of alertness and ensures safety, as BJC has determined this is a safety‑sensitive position.

• RN license required.
• Education:
  
  Nursing Diploma/Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Equivalent.
• No prior nursing experience required.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Up to 2 years experience in emergency department (preferred).
