Position SummaryThe Co-Worker Health Registered Nurse plays a vital role in supporting the health, safety, and well‑being of employees throughout their employment journey. This position collaborates closely with co‑workers, leaders and regulatory agencies to provide occupational health services, promote workplace wellness, manage employee health programs and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and organisational requirements.
Essential Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate and administer all Co-Worker Health services in compliance with federal and state regulations and accreditation standards.
- Conduct pre‑employment health assessments, including medical history reviews, drug testing, laboratory work, immunisation verification and additional screenings as indicated.
- Manage and administer employee tuberculosis (TB) screening programmes in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform respirator fit testing and provide required education and training.
- Coordinate and administer annual influenza and other employee immunisation programmes, including assessment of vaccine contraindications, education on potential side effects and documentation.
- Provide first aid and follow‑up care for employees experiencing work‑related injuries or illnesses.
- Collaborate with leaders, supervisors and employees to facilitate return‑to‑work and restricted‑duty programmes.
- Serve as Workers' Compensation Coordinator as assigned, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements, injury tracking, case management and communication with providers, leadership and third‑party partners.
- Maintain accurate employee health records and ensure strict confidentiality of all medical information.
- Prepare and present monthly and annual reports to support organisational compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor regulatory changes and recommend updates to employee health policies, procedures and practices.
- Promote employee wellness and participate in committees related to wellness, safety, infection prevention and environmental health.
- Communicate effectively through clear, accurate and professional verbal and written interactions.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the organisation's mission, values and service standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licence in the applicable state.
- Occupational Health, Employee Health, Workers' Compensation, Emergency Nursing or Case Management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of employee health regulations, immunisation programmes and workplace safety practices preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with employees, leaders, providers and regulatory agencies.
- Proficiency in electronic health records and reporting systems.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift as required.
- Ability to administer immunisations, perform screenings and respond to employee health needs throughout the facility.
