- Works under the Administrative supervision of the Administrative Coordinator - Pools across Farmington Aquatic Center, Bisti Bay Waterpark, Lions Pool, and The Beach at Lake Farmington.
- Uses customer service skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, officials, and the public.
- Receives money and operates cash register; performs administrative bookkeeping duties.
- Assists in ensuring daily revenue close-outs are completed and balanced.
- Registers participants for various aquatic activities; assists in developing the brochure.
- Supports the Administrative Coordinator with scheduling and training of new front desk employees.
- Performs custodial and cleaning duties (sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, buffing floors) of pool facilities.
- Performs miscellaneous receptionist duties such as greeting customers, answering phones, collecting fees, running errands, picking up supplies, arranging pool use, and setting up for classes/events.
- Responds to public inquiries and complaints about aquatics programs in person or by telephone.
- Operates a motor vehicle to support department and city business.
- Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
Non-essential duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications- Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Program: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, etc.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and interact pleasantly with patrons.
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with acceptable driving record for past 3 years.
- Knowledge of administrative office skills: typing, computer, calculator, telephone.
- Knowledge of administrative bookkeeping procedures.
- Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, participants, and the public.
- Skill in operating listed tools and equipment.
- Understanding of aquatic programming or ability to obtain such.
- Extensive background checks required.
- Participation in and compliance with City's Environmental, Health, and Safety program.
