Industrial Engineer I – supports the Effectors portfolio of factories by conducting labor performance analyses, process and value stream mapping, line balancing, capacity planning, manpower planning, factory layouts, simulations, strategic planning, project management, and continuous improvement to maximize throughput and deliver value to the customer.
Location:
Farmington, NM (Raytheon Diné Facility).
- Model factory operations by generating process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically depict production processes and key performance indicators.
- Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.
- Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and meet cost, quality, and on‑time delivery goals.
- Influence factory roadmaps and investment strategies by drafting infrastructure improvement and expansion proposals and planning integration of new products, technologies, and equipment.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to execute projects that address obsolescence, improve factory performance, and promote growth.
- Support new production contract and new product proposals and integration efforts.
- Improve factory safety and work cell ergonomics.
- Industrial Engineering tools and methods used to build factory models for continuous improvement and future‑state forecasting.
- Aspects of the Defense Industry and how to meet mission requirements while achieving cost, quality, and schedule targets.
- The CORE Operating System and core common methods for aligning priorities and meeting business objectives.
- Executive presence and supporting leadership in making data‑driven decisions.
- Project planning and project management techniques to deliver results and meet critical milestones.
- How to influence and lead high‑performing cross‑functional teams and frontline operators.
- Strategic planning and developing business proposals that generate returns on invested capital.

- Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) earned by the start date.
- Experience applying industrial engineering tools and methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, capacity modeling, facility design, or process optimization.
- Experience with CAD tools/software.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
- Prefer major in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience or education with factory layout and work cell design/optimization.
- Experience or education with simulation modeling and capacity analysis tools/methods.
- Experience or education with project management.
- Six Sigma certifications.
- Ability to lead teams and influence without authority.
