Location: Kirtland Air Force Base (AFB), NM

Position OverviewSandy Mac Evolution is seeking an Information Technology / Information Assurance (IT/IA) Specialist I to support Department of Defense (DoD) Special Access Programs (SAPs) at Kirtland AFB, NM. The role provides day‑to‑day administration, cybersecurity, and technical support for classified information systems supporting Headquarters Air Force (HAF), the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and other sensitive DoD organizations.
Mandatory Qualifications- Active Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance
- Eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP)
- Willingness to successfully complete a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph
- 2–5 years of related Information Technology or Information Assurance experience
- Prior experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar IT support role
- Bachelor's degree or four (4) additional years of equivalent experience
- DoD 8570.01‑M IAM Level I certification (IAT Level II accepted in lieu of IAM Level I) within six months of hire
- Previous experience supporting Special Access Programs (SAP)
- Administer secure Windows server and workstation environments supporting classified operations
- Establish and maintain operational software configurations and system interfaces
- Maintain file servers, firewalls, security monitoring systems, and network infrastructure
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, system, and network issues
- Prepare systems for operational use and support operational testing activities
- Review, prepare, and maintain RMF authorization packages
- Coordinate cybersecurity documentation supporting Assessment and Authorization (A&A)
- Conduct cybersecurity self‑inspections and identify system vulnerabilities
- Implement corrective actions and security countermeasures
- Ensure information systems comply with DoD cybersecurity policies and security requirements
- Administer Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems, scheduling, and configuration
- Support external information systems and client connectivity
- Create, modify, and manage user accounts across multiple authorization boundaries
- Provide Help Desk support for classified and unclassified environments
- Perform hardware and software installations, upgrades, and system modifications
- Execute operating system and network appliance patch management
- Support Government‑issued laptops and mobile devices
- Assist with classified media control and accountability
- Perform COMSEC account and equipment management
- Maintain accurate system documentation and technical records

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline
OR
Four (4) additional years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree
- DoD 8570.01‑M certification within six months of hire
- IAT Level II (accepted in lieu of IAM Level I)
Active Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance required
Eligibility for SCI and SAP access
Ability to successfully complete a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds
