Balance Technician

Ethos Energy is currently seeking a Balance Technician for our Farmington, NM facility. Balance technicians, follow Ethos Energy procedures to perform balance operations, within our Farmington facility, on high-speed generator rotors meeting all industry specs.

• Responsible for,
• Proper set up of the balance machine for each specific rotor
• Accurate pre balance inspections and runout measurements
• Safe operation of the balance machine and associated equipment
• balancing rotors to desired specs
• Safe operation of at speed electrical test equipment
• accurate at speed electrical tests performed
• Safe removal of rotors from the balance machine
• Accurate post balance inspections and tests
• Maintaining and performing all required equipment maintenance inspections on the balance equipment

• Basic computer skills using Xcel, Outlook, Teams, Cab flex balance software,
• Knowledge and understanding of TIR equipment
• Knowledge and understanding of Schenck balance equipment
• Familiar with overhead crane operation
• Familiar with forklift operation
• Basic understanding of balance operations and vectoring
• Ability to read precision measuring equipment
• Familiar with associated test equipment, meggers, DLRO's, etc.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial environment, working on Generators, motors etc.
• Knowledge and experience in high-speed balance operations and testing.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• IMD balance school level II preferred

• Able to move up and down stairs.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to work 12-hour shifts.
• Able to stand for extended amount of time.
