Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Powder Coat Operator to join our team as a 1st‑shift specialist at Kelly Services. You will operate powder coating equipment, ensure product quality and consistency, and support all aspects of the production process.
Responsibilities- Load parts onto conveyor line ensuring proper preparation for powder coating.
- Ensure parts are clean and dry before entering the powder coat spray booth.
- Apply powder coat to parts, ensuring zero defects, and unload parts from the conveyor line, maintaining 100% quality.
- Confirm production orders using the business system (SAP/Tru Tops Fab).
- Deliver finished parts correctly and prevent damage or defects with proper paperwork.
- Utilize material replenishment systems (Kanban, MRP Production, etc.).
- Follow rework policies for handling defective parts.
- Use area tools and equipment effectively, such as forklifts and power drills.
- Assist in paint color changeovers and perform routine checks in the powder coat area.
- Read and understand blueprints and written specifications.
- Stand for extended periods, bend, and lift up to 70 lbs.
- Support 5S and preventive maintenance activities.
- Perform other duties as designated by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in powder coating or a related field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Basic computer skills to review and print work orders.
- Ability to make necessary adjustments to cleaning solutions.
