Grinder​/shop Labor

Job Description

This role involves assisting welders and fabricators in the shop with structural pieces. You will be responsible for moving parts, cleaning areas and tools, and assisting with material preparation through grinding to get ready for fabrication. Additionally, you will piece parts together, lay them out, and fit them.

• Assist welders and fabricators with structural pieces in the shop.
• Move parts and clean areas and tools.
• Prepare materials through grinding for fabrication.
• Piece parts together, and perform layout and fitting tasks.

• Proficient in using a grinder 70% of the time.
• Ability to work with hand tools.
• Capability to maintain a clean work environment.
• Skills in assembling parts.

• Mechanical inclination.
• Experience in measuring and moving parts.
• Basic understanding of welding and production processes.
• Ability to read blueprints and measure accurately.

The position is based in a shop environment and follows a Monday to Friday schedule on the 2nd shift, from 3 PM to 11:30 PM. Employees working the 2nd shift receive a 10% shift differential. Safety is a priority in the workplace.

This is a Contract position based out of BERNALILLO, NM.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.80/hr.
