Travel ER RN - Fusion Medical Staffing – Farmington, New Mexico
OverviewFusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled ER Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13‑week travel assignment in Farmington, New Mexico. Candidates must hold a valid RN license in compliance with state regulations and have at least one year of recent experience as an ER RN.
Responsibilities- Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on the severity of their condition.
- Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved emergency nursing techniques and protocols.
- Prepare equipment and aid physicians during emergency treatments and examinations.
- Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout their time in the emergency department, responding to immediate needs.
- Observe and document patient conditions as required within scope of practice.
- Respond to life‑saving situations based on emergency nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Document comprehensive nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs considering the acute nature of emergency care.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, paramedics, social workers, and other support staff to ensure comprehensive care.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Read, write, and communicate in English.
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- At least one year of recent ER RN experience.
- Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication under pressure.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and professional ethics.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
- Must cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as without assistance from other personnel.
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
