Description:
This position offers the option of a 13 or 26-week contract. The facility is a 198-bed, level III trauma center that includes state-of-the-art operating suites. It provides healthcare services to a diverse regional area. Services include medical, surgical, rehabilitation, a childbirth center, cancer center, nephrology unit, pediatric unit, inpatient behavioral health unit, day surgery center, and extensive imaging and lab testing services.
The unit comprises 17 beds with 2 triage rooms. Patient ratios follow AWHONN standards. There are approximately 75 deliveries on the unit monthly. Required duties include cervical exams and assisting on infant deliveries when necessary. Responsibilities are consistent with the standard of care and in alignment with industry standards, performed with minimal supervision. The position is not part of a teaching hospital and has no resident physicians.
Practicing within a community hospital setting, the applicant should have charge level experience. Additional required skills include fetal monitoring, stabilization of neonates, troubleshooting high acuity situations, and strong triage assessment skills. Common diagnoses treated include labor, gestational diabetes, hypertension, intrauterine growth restriction, macrosomia, and substance use in pregnancy. Educational requirements include either an ADN or BSN.
