The LPN Infection Preventionist evaluates resident care quality and outcomes related to Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI) and Community Acquired Infections (CAI) by collecting, analyzing, and presenting infection data, and recommending actions. They monitor staff compliance with infection control standards, provide education to staff, residents, and families, and serve as a resource across departments.
Qualifications include: graduation from an accredited LPN program, active licensure in the applicable state, current CPR certification, and specialized infection prevention training. Prior geriatrics experience and relevant certifications are preferred.
Key responsibilities: monitoring public health advisories, leading COVID-19 prevention efforts, managing the Antibiotic Stewardship Program, staying current on infection control trends, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. They make independent decisions, maintain confidentiality, and uphold professional and ethical standards aligned with company policies and the Code of Conduct.
