American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Nephrology/Med-Surg night shift position at a Level III trauma center in Farmington, NM, requiring a minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg experience and an active NM or compact RN license.

• Active NM or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (must be AHA-issued)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required; 2 years preferred
• ADN or higher required
• Skills checklist score of at least 3.2 overall required

• Work on a 24-bed Nephrology unit that functions as an extension of the Med/Surg floor
• Patient population includes geriatric and adult patients with diagnoses such as ESRD, peritoneal dialysis, and hemodialysis
• Patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6
• Equipment includes VS machines, bladder scanners, lifts, thermal imaging, and IV pumps
• EMR:
  Cerner
• Night shift: 7P-7:30A (19:00-07:00)
• Must work at least 2 weekend shifts per month
• Floating required on an as-needed basis per facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract
• The facility is a 198-bed Level III trauma center serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah; due to its location, Trauma Level I and II cases are also flown in
• Observation unit experience is a plus
• Charge nurse experience is preferred but not required
• Nephrology experience is preferred but not required
• Candidates will be required to complete an area-specific competency exam and skills checklist as part of the consideration process
