San Juan Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical for a 13-week night-shift assignment. The RN will provide care to adult and geriatric patients in a 43-bed medical unit.
ResponsibilitiesProvide safe, compassionate nursing care to Medical/Surgical patients.
Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Manage patients with conditions including sepsis, pneumonia, CHF, cirrhosis, respiratory illnesses, and wounds
.
Utilize IV pumps, bladder scanners, vital-sign machines, lifts, tube-feeding pumps, and other unit equipment.
Float to other areas as needed based on facility requirements.
Follow facility policies, safety standards, and infection-control procedures.
Beds: 43
Patient Ratio: 1:5 to 1:6
Patient Population: Adults and geriatric patients (18+)
EHR: Cerner
Call: None
Weekend Requirement: At least 2 weekend shifts per month recommended
Floating: As needed per facility
RequirementsActive RN license
ADN required
Minimum 1 year of RN experience
; 2 years preferred
Medical/Surgical experience preferred
BLS – AHA required
Strong clinical assessment and patient-care skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment
Preferred QualificationsCharge Nurse experience preferred, but not required
Oncology experience/skills helpful, but not required
Previous travel nursing experience is a plus
