American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Level III trauma Emergency Department, requiring 2 years of ED experience and current ACLS, PALS, BLS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications.
Details- Work in a 48-bed Emergency Department with flex space in a Level III trauma center
- Patient ratios of 4:1 in Main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
- Patient population includes ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, and psychiatric patients
- Common diagnoses include ESRD, substance abuse disorders, psychological disorders, COPD, CHF, abdominal pain, and chest pain
- Utilizes Zoll Defibrillator, Level One Blood Transfuser, Qin Flow Blood Warmer, Hospira Plum
360, Freestyle and iStat POC devices, and Ultrasound Guided IV - EMR system used is Cerner
- Night shift schedule from 7p to 7a
- Minimum of two weekends per schedule required
- No call requirements
- No float requirements
- Unit uses a Team Nursing and Pod System with a Social Worker and Unit Educator assigned to the department
- Active RN license (NM or Compact) currently in hand
- Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, TNCC, and ENPC (must be from AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with 2 years of ED experience preferred
- RN ADN education required
- Experience with trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation required
- Provide emergency nursing care across a range of trauma, medical, and psychiatric cases
- Various Trauma Level I, II, and III cases are flown into the facility given its regional location
- Work alongside a dedicated Social Worker and Unit Educator supporting the department
