Job Description:
Provide educationally related social work services for students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assessment of student needs through observation, interviews, and evaluations
2. Individual, group, and school-wide interventions using research-based practices in an
ecological framework
3. Maintain appropriate documentation, in a timely manner, utilizing the district mandated
documentation system.
4. Instruction regarding social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties
5. Crisis prevention and intervention
6. Work with students in both general education and special education settings
7. Advocacy for students, parents, and the school district
8. Education and training for parents and guardians
9. Information and referral
10. Professional case management
11. Collaboration and consultation with community agencies, organizations, and other
professionals
12. Staff and policy development

Duties and Responsibilities:
Other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor
Qualifications:
Masters in Social Work preferred, must possess a state social work license, and must qualify for
PED Social Work license. Effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to
work effectively with parents, students, and school personnel.
Job Description
Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds),
reaching, squatting, kneeling, prolonged typing, physical ability to type on a keyboard
terminal, and moving light furniture may be required.
Equipment/Technology Handled:
Must know how to properly operate or be willing to
learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.
Work Environment:
Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature,
and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required.
Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignments without direct supervision.
Terms of Employment:
Salary and work calendar established yearly by the district.
