This position exists to provide community-based supervision of youth adjudicated for misdemeanor and felony-level offenses on behalf of the courts and the Supervised Release Panel. The position ensures compliance with court-ordered conditions while supporting rehabilitation and public safety. The incumbent provides case management services, conducts field visits, assesses the needs of the youth and family, prepares court recommendations, and coordinates referrals to appropriate service providers.

This position requires flexibility in work hours, including non-traditional schedules, to effectively meet the needs of youth and families. The incumbent will be required to work non-traditional hours in conjunction with traditional hours.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising at-risk and adjudicated youth in the community.
• Conducting home, school, and field visits.
• Completing risk and needs assessments.
• Preparing court reports and recommendations
• Developing case plans and monitoring compliance with court-ordered conditions.
• Coordinating and referring youth and families to community-based services.
• Maintaining documentation and case records in accordance with policy and legal requirements.

Primary clients include at-risk and adjudicated youth and their families. Secondary stakeholders include the courts, Supervised Release Panel, law enforcement, schools, community providers, and other system partners involved in the youth's case.

The ideal candidate demonstrates high integrity, sound judgment, and professionalism. This individual serves as a positive role model for at-risk and adjudicated youth and is motivated to promote accountability, rehabilitation, and community safety. The successful candidate possesses strong verbal and written communication skills and is able to prepare clear, concise, and thorough case documentation, including assessments, case notes, reports, and court recommendations.

The ability to engage effectively with youth, families, court personnel, and community partners is essential. The ideal candidate has experience working with at-risk or delinquent youth and demonstrates knowledge of case management practices, risk and needs assessment, community resources, and evidence-based supervision strategies.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in sociology, psychology, corrections, guidance and counseling, social work, police science, criminal justice, juvenile justice, education, public administration, or closely related field. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.

Work is performed in both office and community settings and requires regular travel within the service area. The position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities, in addition to standard business hours. The incumbent will have direct contact with youth and families who may present with behavioral challenges, substance abuse issues, mental health concerns, or emotional distress. The position may involve exposure to potentially volatile situations requiring sound judgment, deescalation skills, and adherence to safety protocols.

Frequent computer use, documentation, and phone communication is required.

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and all terms/conditions of that agreement apply and must be adhered to.
