Job Description:

Join our team as an RN in a Behavioral Health unit at a well-respected medical center in Farmington, NM. This 13-week contract offers an engaging opportunity to work in a small, focused psychiatric unit with only 7 beds, where you’ll witness firsthand the impact of de-escalation techniques and medication management on adult mental health. The shift is 12-hour days, with a likely schedule of Sun/Tues or Mon/Tues/Wed, providing a predictable routine and the chance to immerse yourself in this specialized setting.

Only one RN is on duty with a BH technician and desk attendant, making it a unique, hands-on experience with a manageable patient census ranging from 3 to 5. This assignment is ideal for experienced psychiatric nurses eager to make a difference in a calm, community-focused environment.

Duration: 13 weeks (36 hours per week)
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience, BLS certification, ADN or BSN required. Focus on adult behavioral health, including diagnosis such as depression, schizophrenia, or drug-induced psychosis. No float required. The unit has a small patient census with a focus on de-escalation, medication knowledge, and basic wound care.
