Elementary Contract Substitute School Year
Compensation: $155.00 per school day, minimum 4 days per week for the school year
Primary Responsibility:
Substitute teachers play an essential role in supporting our students' academic success. At West Irondequoit, substitutes ensure high quality instruction and social-emotional support in the absence of a full-time teacher.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective problem-solving skills to deal with day-to-day classroom challenges
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand and follow district policies and procedures
- Adherence to the West Irondequoit Central School District Code of Conduct
- Fingerprint clearance from the New York State Department of Education
- Must meet educational qualifications as specified by the NYS Department of Education
Maintain student confidentiality regarding students in accordance with district policies and regulations
Follow and implement documented lesson plans effectively
Assist with arrival, dismissal, and other duties as assigned by school administration
Enforce classroom management techniques to maintain a productive learning environment
Interact with students and staff in a respectful and professional manner
