Job Description:
Longwood University invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Education & Prevention Coordinator (GA275) in the Office of Student Affairs. The Education and Prevention Coordinator supports Longwood University's effort to provide programs and services focused on the education and prevention of sexual violence, hazing, human trafficking, alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use. This position assesses campus needs, develops and implements prevention strategies, and coordinates training and education initiatives that foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
The position collaborates closely with campus partners to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, including the Drug-Free Schools and Campuses Act, the Violence Against Women Act, the Stop Campus Hazing Act, and the Commonwealth of Virginia Code 23.1-808.1 (Adam's Law).
This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University's campus.

Essential
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Coordinate, implement, and evaluate education and prevention programs related to sexual violence, hazing, human trafficking, and substance (alcohol, tobacco, and other drug) use.
* Maintain compliance with the Federal Drug Free Schools and Communities Act, the Violence Against Women Act, the Stop Campus Hazing Act, and the Commonwealth of Virginia companion legislation.
* Prepare annual reports, biennial reviews, and other required documentation.
* Actively participate in the training and implementation of the BASICS and CASICS educational programs coordinated by the Office of Student Conduct & Integrity.
* Coordinate and chair the Education and Prevention Team, which includes representation from Student Affairs and other campus and community partners, utilizing an environmental approach to address substance use, hazing, sexual misconduct, and human trafficking.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with campus partners and community stakeholders while collaborating to provide primary prevention and awareness programming related to sexual violence, hazing, human trafficking, and substance (alcohol, tobacco, and other drug) use, including, but not limited to, Title IX, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Student Engagement, and the Longwood Police departments.
* Oversee and maintain any grants assigned in the areas of sexual violence, hazing, human trafficking, and substance (alcohol, tobacco, and other drug) use.
Job Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in higher education administration, social work, public health, or other relevant discipline is required. Master's degree preferred.
* Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience in education, prevention, wellness, or compliance initiatives in a higher education or related setting.
* Experience working with various populations with a demonstrated commitment to inclusion and belonging.
* Experience with prevention programs pertaining to sexual violence, hazing, human trafficking, and substance (alcohol, tobacco, and other drug) use is preferred.
Additional Information:
This position is a full-time, administrative & professional faculty, exempt position. Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience. A successful fingerprint-based criminal background investigation is required. Ameri Corps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
