Special Education Teacher in Farmville, VA

Make a meaningful difference as a Special Education Teacher providing individualized support to a 1st grade student requiring compensatory services. This contract opportunity allows you to work directly with one student in a home-based setting. The student is non-verbal and exhibits self-injurious behaviors, so experience with behavioral management and specialized instruction is essential. • Valid Special Education teaching license or eligibility for licensure
• Demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged students with significant communication needs
• Skill in using adaptive communication methods, such as AAC or non-verbal supports
• Strong background in implementing behavior intervention strategies
• Ability to collaborate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to individualized instruction
