Accounting Analyst

Full‑Time in Fayetteville, AR (Hybrid opportunity based in Little Rock, Fort Smith, or Fayetteville, AR; or Lawton, OK).

Position Summary

The Accounting Analyst supports the Revenue Accounting Department by leading gas cost subledger‑to‑general ledger reconciliations, assisting with month‑end close activities, and preparing Lost and Unaccounted for Gas (LUFG) calculations for regulatory compliance.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the cleanup and reconciliation of gas cost subledger to general ledger discrepancies and develop training and documentation to strengthen controls and stakeholder understanding.
  • Support month‑end close activities by preparing account reconciliations, analyzing trends and anomalies within financial and operational data, and documenting processes.
  • Calculate, analyze, and report Lost and Unaccounted for Gas (LUFG) gas, identify drivers of variances, validate source data, and partner with operations and regulatory teams for accuracy and compliance.
Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in accounting or gas supply.
  • CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
  • Previous utility accounting experience preferred.
  • ERP transformation/implementation experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and meticulous analytical capability.
  • Strong competencies in utility accounting and FERC accounting.
  • Success in consulting effectively with all levels of management, including executives.
  • Ability to influence others without direct position power and earn credibility and trust.
  • Business partner mentality and ability to educate basic financial concepts to stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to conduct and interpret quantitative/qualitative analysis and communicate complex financial concepts clearly.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Oracle, SAP and Quorum Gas and Pipeline products a plus.
