Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to support a non-profit organization in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting specialist who can manage invoice processing, maintain accurate financial records, and work effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders. The role requires strong reconciliation skills, a proactive approach to resolving discrepancies, and the ability to keep accounts payable operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

- Review invoices for accuracy, assign appropriate coding, and process them efficiently through the accounts payable workflow.

- Combine and prepare payable documents in organized batches, then enter and post transactions with a high level of accuracy.

- Investigate payment-related discrepancies and coordinate with vendors or customers to resolve outstanding accounts payable or receivable issues.

- Reconcile subsidiary ledger activity to the general ledger and address variances in a timely manner.

- Support cash application activities and maintain account balances through regular reconciliation and follow-up.

- Monitor chargebacks and related adjustments, ensuring records are updated correctly and exceptions are researched promptly.

- Maintain complete and accurate financial documentation to support reporting, audit readiness, and daily accounting operations. Requirements
