Position: Tax Partner (NWA)

Arkansas Talent Group's Executive Search Division is conducting a search for a Tax Partner to join a highly respected, growth-oriented Public Accounting Firm in Northwest Arkansas.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned tax professional who wants to step into a meaningful leadership role, inherit a premier client portfolio, and help shape the next chapter of one of Arkansas' most prominent and established CPA Firms.

The incoming Tax Partner will work alongside an experienced leadership team during a thoughtful, multi-year succession transition as a longtime partner prepares for retirement.

The successful candidate will have the rare opportunity to assume responsibility for a significant book of business that includes many of the most prominent individuals, families, and businesses in Arkansas and the surrounding region. Beyond the immediate client base, the role offers substantial upside to grow relationships and develop new business in one of the country's fastest-growing markets.

NW Arkansas continues to attract businesses, entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals, and sophisticated family-owned companies—creating a compelling environment for a relationship-driven tax leader who enjoys serving clients, building teams, and expanding a practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of tax clients, including high-net-worth individuals, closely held businesses, partnerships, S corporations, corporations, trusts, estates, and other complex entities
  • Partner closely with the retiring Tax Partner to develop and execute a detailed client-transition and relationship-management plan
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to clients, providing proactive tax planning, consulting, compliance oversight, and long-term business guidance
  • Review complex federal, state, and local income tax returns, including individual, partnership, corporate, trust, estate, and other entity returns
  • Provide technical leadership on complex tax matters, including tax planning opportunities, transactions, entity structuring, succession planning, and multistate considerations, as applicable
  • Build and deepen relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities to broaden service delivery across the firm
  • Develop new business through referral relationships, community involvement, professional networking, and a strong commitment to client service
  • Collaborate with firm leadership and other practice areas to provide integrated solutions for clients
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop tax professionals at various levels, fostering a high-performing and client-focused team culture
  • Support recruiting, retention, performance development, and succession planning within the tax department
  • Maintain a strong understanding of tax law changes, regulatory developments, and emerging client needs
Desired background:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Active CPA license required.
  • Master's degree in Taxation, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred
  • Ten or more years of progressive public accounting tax experience, with meaningful experience serving complex individual and closely held business clients
  • Prior experience at the Partner, Principal, Director, Senior Manager, or equivalent leadership level within a public accounting environment is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated technical depth across individual, partnership, corporate, trust, estate, and closely held business taxation
  • Proven ability to manage and retain client relationships while delivering proactive, high-quality tax planning and advisory services
  • Strong leadership capability, including experience developing, mentoring, and retaining tax professionals
  • Excellent communication skills and the executive presence to work effectively with sophisticated clients, business owners, attorneys, bankers, wealth advisors, and other professional referral sources
  • Profit Sharing & Equity
  • Executive Benefits with 100% paid family coverage
  • Inherited client portfolio and many other perks!

This is not simply a senior tax leadership position. It is a thoughtfully planned succession opportunity with immediate client responsibility, long-term leadership potential, and a clear path to make a lasting impact.

The selected professional will inherit relationships that have been built over many years while also benefiting from the momentum of the Northwest Arkansas market. The region's continued growth creates a strong opportunity to develop new client relationships with entrepreneurs, expanding…
