Job Duties

The Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville invites applications for the position of Supply Chain Management Events Coordinator. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing events hosted by the Department of Supply Chain Management and the Supply Chain Management Research Center (SCMRC). The Events Coordinator oversees logistical planning for department events, coordinates vendors and campus partners, manages event timelines and operational details, and ensures exceptional experiences for students, faculty, alumni, industry partners, and guests.

The position supports networking events, case competitions, Shadow Days, the annual Supply Chain Trends Expo, graduate program weekends in Dallas, faculty events, and other supply chain management programming. Working closely with faculty, program directors, the SCMRC, and the Walton marketing team, this position ensures events are executed efficiently while aligning with departmental goals and university policies.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. This position requires flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of departmental events. There is occasional travel, including overnight travel, to support off-campus programs and events. This is a fully in-person position.

This is appointment is renewable based on the need for the position, availability of funding, and continued satisfactory level of performance in the role.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Event Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least three years of professional experience coordinating events or managing projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience planning conferences, networking events, or educational events
  • Experience coordinating vendors and event logistics
  • Experience coordinating travel, lodging, and logistical arrangements for speakers, guests, or program participants
  • Experience managing event budgets and reconciling event-related expenses
  • Experience administering event registration software
  • Experience working in higher education
