Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise a concrete crew, ensuring top-quality work and adherence to project plans every day.
* Receive daily instructions from the Project Superintendent and coordinate crew activities accordingly.
* Plan and schedule the mobilization of equipment and resources to maximize efficiency.
* Train, coach, and mentor team members, fostering professional growth and a positive work environment.
* Read and interpret building plans, directing work to meet precise specifications.
* Oversee finishers and laborers, maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and safety.
* Step in as a finisher or laborer when needed to ensure timely project completion.
* Communicate effectively with the Project Superintendent about changing work conditions and seek approval before making adjustments.
* Promote and lead a strong safety culture-ensuring all crew members follow safety protocols and operate equipment responsibly.
* Report equipment issues promptly to the shop for maintenance and repairs.
* Maintain accurate time and material records for daily job costing and reporting.
* Perform other duties as assigned, adapting to project needs with a positive attitude.
* Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Must be at least 18 years old.
* Completion of MSHA training within 90 days of hire, and Miner training prior to working in facility.
* Ability to read plans and specifications with attention to detail.
* Successful completion of pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.
* Reliable attendance and strict adherence to safety policies.
* Willingness to travel and work away from home, including nights and weekends when required.
* Personal protective equipment (PPE) required in designated areas (face shield, hard toe shoes, safety vest, etc.).
Knowledge & Skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; ability to learn new software as needed.
* Strong communication skills with direct reports, supervisors, and the public.
* Problem-solving ability for cost-effective solutions in the absence of a superintendent.
Physical Requirements
* Available to work 8-12 hour rotating shifts, including weekends.
* Ability to walk or stand for extended periods; limited sitting required.
* Frequent reaching, handling, and feeling with hands and fingers.
* Ability to climb, balance, kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl as needed.
* Wear hearing protection in high-noise areas.
* Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
Work Environment
* Work in elevated or confined spaces, including repeated climbing of ramps, stairs, and occasional vertical ladders.
* Outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including extended exposure to sun and airborne particles.
* Wear respirator in environments with fumes, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation as needed.
