We’re looking for a talented Structural Designer to join our team and help bring imaginative, practical, and sustainable designs to life.
Role OverviewAs a Structural Designer specializing in cardboard, you’ll turn concepts into durable, functional, and visually striking designs. You’ll work closely with our product development and prototyping teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, efficient, and aligned with our sustainability goals. This position may also suit a Product design student looking to accelerate their career!
Key Responsibilities- Develop and refine cardboard structures for packaging, furniture, displays, and other products.
- Create technical drawings, prototypes, and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works, Illustrator, or similar).
- Test structural integrity and adjust designs for strength, stability, and material efficiency.
- Collaborate with product designers, engineers, and manufacturers to optimize designs.
- Stay up-to-date with materials, trends, and innovations in sustainable packaging and cardboard design.
- Proven experience in structural design, preferably with cardboard or other lightweight materials.
- Proficiency in CAD and 3D modeling software.
- Strong understanding of material properties, folding techniques, and structural mechanics.
- Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices.
- Experience with prototyping and production processes.
- Background in packaging design, exhibition stands, or furniture design.
