Ozark Orthopaedics is seeking a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join our growing private practice in Northwest Arkansas. We are looking for a candidate who is Board Eligible or Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery and has completed fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma. Qualifications
  • MD or DO
  • Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma fellowship
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Arkansas

Acute trauma care (Level I)
  • Provide timely orthopaedic trauma consults for ED and trauma service patients, including polytrauma.
  • Manage a high volume of operative and non‑operative fracture care across a wide spectrum of injury patterns.
  • Participate in the orthopaedic trauma call rotation and deliver responsive, high‑quality coverage consistent with Level I expectations.
Operative responsibilities (including pelvis/acetabulum)
  • Perform definitive and staged fixation for complex injuries, including:
    • Pelvis and acetabular fractures
    • Peri‑articular fractures (e.g., tibial plateau, pilon, distal femur)
    • Long bone fractures, open fractures, and fracture‑related infection/complications
  • Manage soft‑tissue considerations in coordination with trauma/vascular/plastics as needed.
  • Provide postoperative management and complication care (e.g., nonunion, malunion, infection, hardware failure).
Inpatient and continuity care
  • Round on inpatients, coordinate daily care plans, and collaborate with trauma surgery, hospitalists, anesthesia, radiology, rehab, and case management.
  • Ensure safe transitions of care and appropriate discharge planning, including rehab placement and outpatient follow‑up.
  • Run a trauma‑focused clinic schedule for post‑op and non‑operative fracture care.
Documentation, compliance, and quality
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EHR to support clinical care and coding acuity.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, and peer reviews.
  • Follow best practices for patient safety, infection prevention, anticoagulation/DVT prophylaxis coordination, and opioid stewardship.
