Summary of Job Duties
The Graduate Assistant for the Office of Communications and Marketing in the Graduate School and International Education will serve as the social media lead for the unit, in addition to other communication duties as assigned.
Duties include:
- In close collaboration with office staff, the Graduate Assistant will conceptualize and implement a social media strategy for the main Graduate School and International Education social media accounts (@uarkgsie). Additionally, this individual will be responsible for creating content, ensuring regular and timely posts on accounts, and engaging with followers;
- Gathering and evaluating marketing-related data from unit stakeholders (e.g. prospective students, current students, etc.);
- Covering campus events via photography and videography;
- Other duties as assigned.
The chosen candidate should be highly organized with strong attention to detail. The Graduate Assistant (GA) will work 20 hours a week. The position may require occasional work outside of typical working hours.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Must have an earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Must be admitted to a graduate program at the University of Arkansas
- Experience in communications, journalism or related field
- Experience using social media as a communications tool for organizations
- Comfortable using major social media platforms such as Instagram, Linked In, and Facebook
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with videography, photography and other multimedia is strongly preferred
Additional Information:
We are seeking a summer start date but are open to an August start for a strong candidate who is the right fit for the role.

Salary InformationCommensurate with education and experience;
Master's student $19,260 or PhD student $23,100
